Comments: I have written this site before, and i still believe that darlie is innocent. why have they not guestioned so many suspects that i could or would have questioned if i was a police officer. why was darin not questioned more, i at first did not have any bad feelings about him at all, but i seem to be having a problem with the way it all happened--was he jelous? does he know or did he have anything to do with whoever broke in on darlie and her boys that night. for some reason in my mind now i am questioning him-i hope i am wrong, but darlie is the 1 who is setting on death row for something she did not do and he is at home and doing whatever. do darlie and darin have contact to this day, and does darlie still feel the same way for darin, or does she have doubts too as i am sure many other people like myself does. would someone please email me if they know anything about this. i would really like to clear my mind about this matter, and darlie should be free and found NOT GUILTY, she did not do it and does not know who did. anyone email me if they know anything at all about this or has some of the same doubts and questions. please. thank you

Comments: I was in complete shock at how fast she was tried and convicted for this crime. When I watched the news I thought to myself, the prosecution does not have any evidence to convince me she did it. I couldn't beleive the jury came back with a guilty verdict!! When I saw how the media assasinated her character; I thought this women doesn't stand a chance. I felt she was seen as guilty from the very beginning. This case haunts me to this day and I pray for the family always.

Comments: I am a retired corrections officer who for years had a lot of faith in the criminal justice system. However after being a part of the system for twenty five years I have learned just how self serving it can be. I support the death penalty in cases where their is absolutely no doubt of guilt.
But after what has happened in Darlie's case I am ashamed to say that I was ever a part of the system. Darlie you and your family are always in my prayers! Keep your faith in God I know in my heart that you will be free before long.

Comments: I saw something on that trial on German television last night, and I am really shocked about the fact that the police dares to think Darlie did all these injuries to herself... she looked so shockingly terrible. Comments: I just recently read the book Hush Little Babies by Don Davis. Prior to reading this book I was never aware of this case. However, after reading this book, I am convienced that justice was not served. Considering the evidence their is no way, beyond a reasonable doubt, Darlie Routier is guilty. Comments: I was outraged to watch the show done on Darlie on A&E American Justice. I am a criminal justice major at college and love that show and appreciate knowing that the guilty can be put away but I was sickened to hear that someone who obviously is so innocent is behind bars. I don't believe in the death penalty for that main reason (1 out of 7 people on death row are guilty in the US.) I have written letters to all the lists I can to do my part in freeing her. Comments: This case is a perfect example of how corrupt or criminal/justice system really is. The Rowlett Police Departmet would rather get another arrest under their belt than to try and help a mother find the murderer of her children. The Justice System in this case are just as wrong as the sick human veing that could kill a child. Comments: We believe Darlie is innocent. Having her trial in Kerrvile, TX was a mistake. Nothing against Kerville, but I think some of the jurors convicted her of murder on the basis of her lifestyle and the "silly string B-Day party" at the grave site. Niether of these issues should have been considered. How each of us deals with grief is different and there is no "normal" way.
Sadly,this is another example of over zealous police and prosecuters making the crime fit the suspect, rather than proving the suspect committed the crime. Today, it was reported that the "State Court of Criminal Appeals" upheld her conviction. Our hearts go out to Darlie and her family. You are in our prayers.

Comments: I, too saw the show on court tv last nite and am completely disgusted at how how this countrys judicial system works! They will send an innocent woman to death row and will let child molesters move next door to schools and other facilities for children! I watched how little the prosecution had to go by and how much the defense was NOT allowed to bring into court! The transcripts alone were enough to say there was a cospiracy against Darlie and proved just how much she was innocent. I feel she has already been to death row with losing her boys to such brutal madness! How could a mother do such disgusting acts to her own children! Being a mother myself I am appauled they would not give her a fair trial, but that they would let someone like OJ Simpson free to walk the streets! It is pretty scary how screwed up this world has gotten and I can only pray that Darlie will one day come home where she belongs! I also watched court tv last night. I think it is a shame that this mother is still in prison and never really got the proper chance to mourn her children's brutal murder. In my honest opinion no I do not think that she did this. I can't see her harming herself as badly as she was hurt. There are so many rebuttals to be used as far as what she told 911 and then later told the police. I know how I sleep myself and unless in the sitiuation she was in I have no idea how I would react nor what the words that would come out my mouth would be. The prosecutors really have no case. I think the state of Texas is afraid of a hefty lawsuit against them and that's why they dont want to give her a new trial. I beleive in the Lord Jesus Christ and I know she will be set free to be with her family. I hate that so many years have been wasted with her in prison. To the family habg in there and keep praying. Comments: I absolutly love watching court Tv forensic files/mugshots. I am 20 years old. Married. Enough about me. I truly don't know what to belive in this case. I have watched both of them (one on forensic files, the other on mugshots) I have been to all the sites aginst and for her. I know that my opinion doesn't really matter. And yeah if that was my daughter or sister or aunt or cousin, I would be on their side too. I know that I dont know her. But all the evidence points to someone in that house. I do belive using money problems in this case, was stupid, and a crutch. Getting back to my point. The point is, in my opinion I think she did it. People close to anybody belive they are the person they have only seen and gotten to know, if you get what I mean. You never truly know a person. Never. People that can seem so happy, can be so unbeliveably sad. ect.ect. For example a friend of mine, who I had grown up with and been tight buds with all my life seemed so happy, ambitious, loved his kids, loved his wife, never was abusive, never got into trouble. Well he raped a friend of mine. I talked to him because of course I belived him and not her. But eventually he admited to me that he did in fact force her to have sex, as well as many other young girls. He also did other things no one was aware someone like him could even think of doing, but thats another story. The point is you never truly know someone. Looking at the pictures of her bruises and cuts. How do you know that she didn't plan all of this ahead of time. How do you know that she didn't bang her arm on the couch or where ever. The thing is you never know, you never will, only she knows. And ya know hopefully she is innocent. I pray she is for her sake.

Comments: I love the death penalty and wish they would kill off the child molesters and killers alot faster, but it makes me sick that they ever put one soul on death row and destroy a life without absolute proof by eye witness or DNA of an intruder left behind. I was born in TX and have lived here all my life and have heard injustice, crookedness, lies, and unfair one-sidedness all of my life and it makes me ASHAMED I am from this state. Here they present only the facts and evidence to make you think what they want you to think and what they want you to believe in any situation. The law in TEXAS just bulldozes over everybody and you have no rights or life if a TEXAS law officer looks at you and decides that you did it, you're through and they will make up the evidence to prove it. Darlie should have gotton a new trial the day they found one error in the transcript and never should have sat a day in prison simply because the jurors didn't see all of the evidence, you can't make a fair dicision unless you have all the facts to see the whole picture. NOT the picture the TX law wants you to see.
If I sound extreme about this state it's only because I live in a small town that is crooked from the sewer up. A drug dealer living on every street in the city and when people turn up dead, an investigation? What's that?

Though it doesn't surprise me that Darlie is a liar as well as a murderer, I am surprised that her family - especially her husband - would go to such lengths to defend her. I would first like to say that I am sorry for using Darlie's guestbook to do this but just wanted to talk to Vicki and she didn't leave an e-mail address. From now on I will go to the link given to me by Larry (Thanks Larry!) to discuss the case with others. While I sympathize with you about having a stillborn child, I can promise you that it in no way compares to losing a child that has been born to you that you have loved and cared for. Even with just those few years Darlie had with her boys comes tons of memories and stages of their lives that tortures you night and day ... it is agony. Her behavior just days after the brutal murder of two of her children is one I can't shake. Stillbirth is horribly sad and heartbreaking ... but make no mistake about it, it does not - in any way- compare to having two of your children MURDERED.

[I would to comment on your question about the graveside party. In my experience, I have observed extremely individual and different grieving processes. What works for one may not necessarily work for another. It is my belief that one way is not always right (or wrong). To assume someone is guilty based on how they grieved the loss of a loved one, is totally unfair. I have given this example before, and will do so again. I lost a child due to stillbirth when I was young. The doctors and nurses all told my family that I did not grieve normally, however, I was in shock and feeling very numb. I didn't have much to say to anyone openly about my internal grief. That does not mean that it wasn't there, just that I chose to keep it inside. I needed to get on with my life, and I did because I had another child to take care of. Would it be fair to say that since I showed few outward emotions that I must have been guilty of killing my unborn child? Of course not. Grief should be handled by the individual who is experiencing it, however it helps them the most. If it made Darlie feel better to have the birthday party at the gravesite, then it should be no one elses business. Also, are you aware that the birthday party was planned and all the decorations and presents bought prior to the murders? I view the party as an act of honor and love for her children.]

Darlie ... I would really love to believe that you are innocent of this horrible crime. Unfortunately, I am having a very hard time doing so. Of everything I've read and heard on this case, I do not understand why there was no blood trail. This troubles me. I am not trying to be mean, just really hope that there is some reasonable explanation. Why was there only blood inside the house?

Larry: Rather than delete comments that do not conform to your beliefs, why don't you try to help doubters to understand? The graveside party is something else I stuggle with. how could someone do this to a child , but at the same time i felt how could someone let this happen to darlie , everyone expresses there emotions differtly when my daughter died i was so mad but i never showed it i never cried where anyone could see not even at her funeral my husband made such a big deal of it and all i wanted to do was forget it happened (she died 6wks before she was born)although what happened to me is very different from darlie the emotions are very much the same from the beginning i have thought she didnot do it , for some reason i have felt a close connection to her so much that when i had my son to me the only name that was right was devon i keep loking at all then web sites and transcripts hopeing that i could find something that could help but just one thing that bothers me very much is darin why was darlie pointed at and not darin too after all he was in the house he had no witnesses as to his whereabouts so what made them think that she did this and he didnt atleast help?? i hope to god i am wrong but i dont think hes innocent as everyone believes after all he had as much if not more as darlie to lose and gain

Comments: I just want too say that I believe that Darlie is innocent. I have read every bit of information and all books pertitent to this case. The most convincing thus far is Media Tried Justice Denied. The title of this book, alone, says it all. Darlie was tried by the media. And how perfect is it that her trial (change of venue) be moved to Kerrville (convictionville) Texas. Why? Because the citizens of Dallas surrounding counties had heard and seen too much on this case to fairly serve as jurors? Ha! Peolple all over the world were kept up to date as to every tid bit of the investigation. Why not a closer county Kaufman, Cooke,. Because of the conviction ratio in Kerrville? Perhaps? Check your statistics for Kerrville, more convictions than not is likely what we will find. What are they population 25????? How often do they have repeat jurors??? Darlie I feel sorry for you and your family, and my condolences for your losses. I pray that you get your appeal soon and this time get a fair chance. It seems as though the crime scene photos published in Media Tried Justice Denied show that some evidence in the home that horrible night may have been manipulated at times. Seems as though the file box of family records and documents were photographed behind the couch, and in another photo was on the couch, lamp shade was moved, end table glass was moved. Thats what I got from it. So I say to all who damn Darlie to hell on this web site, purchase the book and look for yourselves, get it at the library. You already have some interest in this case or you wouldnt have visited and/or commented here. So... Read It, Like I did, and then see how you feel about it. I admit I fell for it in the beginning also, the media did a great job of convicting her. Just imagine how they could just as easily convict you or I for a crime we are innocent of. Comments: Quite honestly, if I weren't quilty, as Darlie claims.....I'd be questioning my husband as to why or better yet HOW could he sleep through all that....yall can believe what ever, but I think everyone can agree that NOONE could sleep through your children and wife being stabbed to death just down stairs....I don't care how big the house is. I live in a rather large house also and can hear things from upsatirs, even the toielt flush. Maybe Darin did it alone, maybe they did it together....I don't know but they are not telling the truth about what happened that night. A husband "the man of the house" the "protector" of the family "so to speak" just snoozes away upstairs while your family is being stabbed to death.....NO WAY! As a mother I don't want to think she's quilty, but as a parent I don't understand Darin's position in all this....failing the polygraph, making a deal w/ the attorney not to finger him, and once agin he also slept through the whole thing. And, even if Darlie is not quilty......GREAT...but if she's not and doesn't question these things about Darin then in a sense she is quilty.....or just STUPID!!!!!!!!

I do not know wether Darlie is innocent or not. But I belive, that the deathpenalty is indeed not right and wrong. In Europe, the horror of deathsentence are over. I work as a Officer in a Swiss Jail (Pöschwies). We take from our Inmates "a part of theyr life", by a Court sentence. But we do not take the whole life of a person by killing them.
I couldn't do my job anymore, if we would start again with this sort of punishment.
To execute a human being is not acceptable for me. What about if somebody has been killed innocent by the government? I feel sorry for Darlie and any other people on deathrow. I hope, that also in the States the deathpenalty will not be carried out anymore, as in other civilised Countries. I really wish this.

Comments: I have been interested in this case since day one. I am not convienced either way. But, what I do know from what I've seen and read....is the police in Rowlette did not do their job properly. Not, saying they meant to do wrong but throwing bloody items all into one bag, incompetent things like that makes them look very bad!The jury was convienced on the facts they were presented, but I feel like not ALL the facts were presented....therefore....wether she did it or not...she was wrongly convicted. The game the justice system plays about what to and what not to allow into evidence is an injustice in & of itself. I don't understand that....no matter how it was obtained, or what it is or who it helps or hurts...all evidence should be allowed to be heard by jurors. If I'd been a juror in Darlie's case....I'd feel pretty cheated right now. I would feel like I killed a woman with out having been allowed to see every possible piece of evidence. Whether she did it or not she deserves a NEW trial with all evidence, including the "SOMBER" graveside service and pictures of her wounds. I support the death penalty, but I do have regard for human life. I would have to believe and know that I know, thatI know because they told me they did it and there was just NO question they killed someone. Because I couldn't sentence someone to death if I even had one single question in my mind. As many have stated on this site...only God knows if people are truely innocent and no matter the injustice here on Earth his WRATH I'm sure is far worse than that of The State of Texas.....so Darlie if you are innocent I hate you have to be subject to such an injustice but,if you are innocent God has a much better palce than what you call home now in store for you, on the other hand if you are guilty you will long for your days on death row compared to where you will be. Comments: I am a 14 year old freshman student. I am very interested in court cases and when I saw Darlies case on television I couldn't help but send you guys an email. Throughout the first part of the show I was kind of leaning on Darlie who killed her two kids, I was thinking to myself, how could a mother do this to her own kids? When I saw Darlie and her family visiting the grave sites of her two young ones I was thinking..maybe she didnt do it, until I saw them spraying silly string on there graves. I thought that was horrible! It wasnt until I saw the rest of the case when I changed my mind totally!
Thats the way the cops are though, they will pin the murder on anyone to just get a case out of it, no wonder they didnt show the jury the pictures of her arms, theres no way she could've done that herself! Its things like that that will change your mind totally and thats why they didnt show the jury the pictures because they thought that they might lose the case. I wanted to write to you guys and tell you to be strong because Darlies justice will come, and I wish you the best with your family and I'll be praying for you guys! Having lost a child myself, as well as my mother and several poeple close to me, I know that people handle grief in different ways. I believe Darlie was convicted because of te small mindedness of the community in which she was tried instead of the state proving it's case beyond a reasonable doubt. I am an average citizen and after reviewing everything i can get my hands on about the trial, I can honestly say that I have a great many questions that I could not find the answers to in the transcripts. Comments: I watched several shows on this case and at first my thouhgts were guilty (another Susan Smith copy cat) but as the show and time progressed the evidence that they say mounted on her was only an assumption anyone could have done it and could have been the murderer. I cannot picture being able to give myself the bruises and cuts on her arms to myself let alone slip my throat and if she supossedly did this for money and ect...why would she almost kill herself what benefits would be to gain there. Court systems have standards they should live up to, and in Darlie's case, they failed miserably. If Darlie is guilty, she's being punished every day of her life.
