Suite 500
Austin, TX 78701

Dear Board of Pardons and Paroles Chairman and members,

I am writing you about Larry Robison, a TCDJ death row inmate, who has been scheduled for execution on August 17, 1999.

I urge you to recommend to the governor that Mr. Robison's death sentence be commuted to a life sentence. Mr. Robison had a long history of paranoid schizophrenia prior to the homicides he committed in 1982. According to at least one qualified medical expert, he was psychotic when he committed the crimes for which he is now sentenced to die. As a result, there are serious questions about the degree of his culpability and capacity for those crimes.

I believe it would be morally wrong for us to execute Mr. Robison because of these circumstances.

Please recommend to our Governor commutation of this death sentence to a life sentence.

Sincerely,

The Reverend Craig C. Roshaven, Pastor
First Jefferson Unitarian Universalist Church
Fort Worth, Texas
