Voices Submission or anyone who can help!

My husband is serving a 20 year prison sentence in Florence, CO. He murdered a co-worker of ours right in front of me...he thought that we were having an affair...of course the drugs he was on didn't help!

The stress I have been going through since that awful day had been so difficult to endure! The financial burden has been so hard to bear, that sometimes I actually forget what really happened. Because we are married and own a home, no organization will assist me. I couldn't get welfare assistance or basic Quest Medical coverage for our son.

I had to work 2 jobs, which was real good for our son's well being...first his father is gone and now his mommy is never around...imagine what was going through his mind. I would feel so guilty when I would be at my night job and it was bedtime and I wasn't with him to say goodnight.

Finally, my parents had to get legal guardianship of our son so that he could be claimed under their medical coverage.  I had to tell a judge that I couldn't take care of my son and that this was not for any financial reason...Ha!
