I met Gordon 8 years ago in High School...we became instant
friends...I got to see a different side of him. He was my closet male
friend...he would walk me to my classes, come to my house after school,
and call me at night. Only 6 months later he was arrested and charged
with malicious wounding. He was only 15 years old, but was charged as
an adult, his sentence, 17 years. I was in shock, never did I think he
could of done something so horrible! At first I had a hard time accepting
it, he called and we wrote but there was a "distance" and un-easy
feeling in our friendship. Over the past 7 1/2 years we have kept in touch
by letters and phone calls...when I was in college I visited on weekends...never
did I expect to fall in love. This past January I had not heard from Gordon
in over 1 1/2 years, I decided to do whatever I could to find out where
he was...I wrote a letter to him...everyday I came home in hopes of a
response...1 week later I got the first of many letters. We since have
grown so close, not only have we rekindled our friendship but we have
made it into a close loving relationship. I have never met anyone who
knows me so well, who understands me without words, and who I love so
deeply. Even though he still has a few years left in prison he has brought
me into his family...No man has ever made me feel so wanted and loved!!
I love him with my whole heart and I plan to stay by his side for the
rest of our lives. To anyone who knows somebody who may of made a mistake,
(whether big or small) but knows that person is a good person, stick with
them! There are only a few good men/women out there...don't let one mistake
destroy what could be the best thing in your life! |
